Store notes
- Amazon.ca: Pre-order Price Guarantee (you pay the lowest Amazon.ca price before release). Sold & shipped by Amazon.ca; release-day delivery Nov 12 offered.
- Best Buy Canada: Sold & shipped by Best Buy. Physical returns 30 days if unopened.
- PlayStation Store CA: Digital pre-orders add 1 month of GTA+ and 7-day pre-load. Only place (with Xbox Store) to buy Ultimate.
- Xbox Store CA: Digital pre-orders add 1 month of GTA+. Ultimate Edition Upgrade listed at $30.00 for Standard owners.
- Walmart.ca: Not verified: Walmart.ca blocked our check. A flyer tracker reports $109.96. A Canadian games site reported Walmart.ca's free delivery date as Nov 19, not Nov 12, so check the date before paying.
- EB Games Canada: Not verified: the site blocked our check. EB has run trade-in promos on GTA VI before (a July trade-3-games offer has expired). Ask in store.
- London Drugs: Not verified: no listing showed up when we checked.
- Costco.ca: GTA VI wasn't listed on Costco.ca when we checked. Costco.ca does sell PlayStation Store and Xbox 4 × $25 digital gift cards (membership required). Check whether they're below face value.
- Canadian Tire: Search returned no results for GTA VI when we checked.
Prices change. The store's own checkout price is what counts. The Source stores are now Best Buy Express, so see Best Buy Canada. Boxed copies are a download code with no disc.
Standard vs Ultimate: which GTA 6 edition should you buy?
Standard Edition
- The full game
- Pre-order bonus (before Nov 20, 2026): Vintage Vice City Pack ('55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles, an exclusive weapon pattern)
- Digital pre-orders also get 1 month of GTA+. Boxed codes don't.
- Sold boxed (code in box) or digital
Ultimate Edition
- Everything in Standard plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade
- Extra vehicles ('95 Grotti Cheetah, Shitzu Squalo, '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and garage, Classic Car Collection, Ganado Retro Build, Jason's safehouse vehicles)
- Weapons (Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, personalized pistols), Vice City Styles and Goodtime Gear
- Exclusive shops: Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo, One-Eyed Willie's, plus the PTT Youngin$ Compound
- Digital only. There's no boxed Ultimate.
Our take: Most players should buy Standard. Ultimate adds cosmetics, vehicles and shops, not more story. Rockstar says Standard owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade any time later ($30.00 on the Xbox Store Canada), so you don't have to decide now. On Xbox, Standard plus the upgrade costs the same as Ultimate, so starting with Standard costs you nothing extra.

PS5 vs PS5 Pro vs Xbox Series S/X for GTA 6 (Canada)
GTA VI is coming to PS5 (with a "PS5 Pro Enhanced" badge on the PlayStation Store) and Xbox Series X|S ("Optimised for Xbox Series X|S"). It won't play on PS4 or Xbox One, and no PC version has been announced.

PS5 / PS5 Digital
Plays GTA VI. The boxed game is a download code anyway, so you don't need a disc drive for GTA 6. Sony's Canadian site also says new PlayStation games will be digital-only from January 2028.
PS5 Pro
GTA VI is listed as PS5 Pro Enhanced, but Rockstar hasn't said what that means yet. It's only worth the extra money if you have a good 4K TV. No disc drive is included.
Xbox Series X
The most powerful Xbox. The Microsoft Store Canada offers holiday price protection on consoles bought Oct 1 – Dec 2, 2026, so you can claim a price adjustment until Jan 31, 2027.
Xbox Series S
The cheapest way to play GTA VI. Watch the storage: the 512GB model fills up fast. The official file size hasn't been published yet, so check the store listing before pre-load.
Bundles: We found no official GTA VI console bundle from Sony or Microsoft in Canada as of Oct 22, 2026. Any 'bundle' is a store package, so add up the console and the $109.99 game separately and compare.
GTA 6 pre-load and unlock times in Canada
The PlayStation Store Canada lists the unlock as midnight Eastern on Nov 19, the same moment across the country. Western provinces get it the evening before. Rockstar says pre-load starts at local midnight on Nov 12. We show it on the same store clock, which hasn't been confirmed.
New for 2026: B.C. didn't fall back on Nov 1 and now stays at UTC−7 (Pacific time, PCT). Alberta and the NWT now stay at UTC−6. That makes the B.C. unlock 10:00 p.m. on Nov 18, not the 9:00 p.m. many guides list. If an older device shows a different time, trust the table.
| Time zone | Pre-load opens (expected) | Unlocks (store listing) |
|---|---|---|
| Pacific (PCT, UTC−7)B.C. (new year-round time), Yukon, NE B.C. | Wed, Nov 11, 10:00 p.m. | Wed, Nov 18, 10:00 p.m. |

Rockstar hasn't announced an official unlock hour. Your console account's store region decides the time. Boxed codes arrive from Nov 12 and can pre-load once redeemed. Sources: PlayStation Store CA listing, Rockstar Support, B.C. time change, Alberta Time.

Black Friday 2026 tip (Nov 27)
- Don't wait for Black Friday to save on the game. It comes after launch (Nov 19) and after the Nov 20 bonus cutoff, so you'd lose the Vintage Vice City Pack and the free GTA+ month. The Canadian PS Store price hasn't moved since pre-orders opened in June.
- Pre-order where a price drop protects you. Amazon.ca shows a Pre-order Price Guarantee: if Amazon's own price drops before release, you pay the lower price.
- Black Friday is for the console. If you need hardware, watch PS5 and Xbox deals in late November. Xbox buyers at the Microsoft Store CA get price adjustments on purchases made Oct 1 – Dec 2.
- Buying digital? Discounted PlayStation Store or Xbox gift cards (for example Costco.ca 4 × $25 packs, membership required) can cut the real cost below $109.99. Check the price before you count on it.

How much is GTA 6 in Canada?
GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto VI) costs $109.99 CAD for the Standard Edition and $139.99 CAD for the Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store in Canada, before tax. Boxed copies are Standard only. On October 22, 2026, the lowest verified price was $109.96 at Amazon.ca.
What is the GTA 6 price in CAD with tax?
It depends on your province. The Standard Edition ($109.99) comes to about $123.19 in BC (12%), $124.29 in Ontario (13% HST), $126.46 in Quebec (14.975%) and $115.49 in Alberta (5% GST). These are estimates; the exact tax is shown at checkout.
Where can I buy GTA 6 cheapest in Canada?
On October 22, 2026, the cheapest verified Standard Edition was $109.96 at Amazon.ca (boxed download code). Best Buy Canada, the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store were at $109.99. Every store we verified was within 3 cents. Buying digitally on PlayStation Store or Xbox Store adds a free month of GTA+, which boxed copies don't include.
What time can I pre-load GTA 6 in Canada?
Rockstar says pre-load starts at local midnight on November 12, 2026, for digital pre-orders and for redeemed codes from boxed copies. If it follows the same store clock as the unlock (midnight Eastern), that's 10:00 p.m. in B.C., 11:00 p.m. in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba on November 11, and 12:00 a.m. Eastern, 1:00 a.m. Atlantic and 1:30 a.m. Newfoundland on November 12. Western times are our expectation, not confirmed.
What time does GTA 6 unlock in Canada?
The Canadian PlayStation Store lists the release as 12:00 a.m. Eastern on November 19, 2026 (05:00 UTC). B.C. stopped changing its clocks on November 1, 2026 and stays at UTC−7, so the game unlocks at 10:00 p.m. on November 18 in B.C. (not 9:00 p.m. as some older guides say). It's 11:00 p.m. on November 18 in Alberta, NWT, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, then 1:00 a.m. Atlantic and 1:30 a.m. Newfoundland on November 19. Rockstar hasn't announced an official unlock hour, so this could change.
Does the GTA 6 box come with a disc?
No. Rockstar says the physical version contains a download code only, with no disc. Boxes ship from November 12 so you can pre-load. There's no physical Ultimate Edition, but you can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade digitally after redeeming a Standard code (listed at $30.00 on the Xbox Store Canada).
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
No PC version has been announced. GTA VI launches on PS5 (PS5 Pro Enhanced) and Xbox Series X|S only. It won't play on PS4 or Xbox One.
Can I use a US GTA 6 code in Canada?
On PlayStation, Canada and the US share one code region, and Canadian retailer listings say codes work on US or Canadian accounts. Rockstar says Xbox codes aren't region-locked. Rockstar still recommends buying in your account's country, and after the exchange rate a US copy usually isn't cheaper.
Will GTA 6 be cheaper on Black Friday?
Don't count on it. The Canadian PlayStation Store price hasn't moved from $109.99 since pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. Black Friday (November 27) also falls after the November 20 pre-order bonus cutoff, so waiting means losing the Vintage Vice City Pack and the free GTA+ month. If you pre-order on Amazon.ca, its Pre-order Price Guarantee covers you if Amazon's own price drops before release.
